Your daily horoscope: December 17 - The Globe and Mail

Sagittarius.

HOROSCOPES IF TODAY IS YOUR BIRTHDAY

A Mercury-Uranus link on your birthday will help you make sense of what’s going on in the world but even then it’s unlikely you will see every angle, so get the opinions of people you trust and don’t assume that the answers will all be easy.

ARIES (March 21 - April 20):

Mercury in the career area of your chart, linked to Uranus, planet of surprises, means if you say the right things to employers and other authority figures this weekend you could be moving up the ladder of success very soon. Tell them what they need to hear.

TAURUS (April 21 - May 21):

Reach out and make contact with people who share your passions. Wherever you go and whatever you do over the next 48 hours you will have the happy the knack of saying just the right thing to just the right person at just the right time.

GEMINI (May 22 - June 21):

You seem to be flavour of the month on the work front at the moment and that’s great, but don’t get carried away and start behaving as if you can say and do anything you please and get away with it. Make sure your flavour stays sweet.

CANCER (June 22 - July 23):

If you need assistance this weekend then ask for it. Mercury and Venus in the partnership area of your chart indicates that others will look on your requests favorably, so don’t keep your worries to yourself, let colleagues know how they can help you.

LEO (July 24 - Aug. 23):

What seems important to you this weekend won’t seem so important when the sun changes signs in midweek, so don’t attach too much significance to it and certainly don’t change your ambitions. On the work front, especially, there’s no need to be hasty.

VIRGO (Aug. 24 - Sept. 23):

Bet only on certainties over the next 48 hours, even if people whose judgment you trust insist they know what is going to happen next. Maybe they do but that doesn’t mean you should put money on it – that’s seriously tempting fate.

LIBRA (Sept. 24 - Oct. 23):

If what you have been working on in recent weeks does not satisfy you creatively don’t worry about it because there will be new opportunities to shine between now and the end of the year. Focus on family relationships this weekend – few things matter more.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24 - Nov. 22):

What happens this weekend should be hugely enjoyable for all concerned but the planets warn there is a danger you could focus too much on helping other people have fun and neglect your own needs in the process. Look out for No. 1!

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 23 - Dec. 21):

You may come across to most people as big and brash but there is a surprisingly sensitive side to your nature and that side will be much in evidence over the next few days. Something will make you intensely emotional and that’s a good thing.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22 - Jan. 20):

Mercury in your birth sign makes it easy to get through to other people and with Mercury linked to larger-than-life Jupiter this weekend you will have plenty to say for yourself. Don’t forget to take a breath occasionally and let others have their say too!

AQUARIUS (Jan. 21 - Feb. 19):

You’ve been doing a lot of wishful thinking lately and while that may not be a bad thing in itself you must watch it does not get out of hand. What is happening now is more important than what might happen one day in the future.

PISCES (Feb. 20 - Mar. 20):

A message you receive from afar will cheer you up no end this weekend but you may also need to read between the lines to get the full story. Most likely it’s what has been left out of the message that is the truly important bit.
