Florence Pugh has wowed in a sheer white and gold gown to attend a star-studded event in Hollywood.

The actress, 26, wore a Victoria Beckham dress to the 13th Annual Governors Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday night.

Her striking floor-length, scoop-necked ensemble featured metallic fringing, as well as carefully-placed fabric that fell to a subtle train.

She finished off her look for the event – which saw Olivia Wilde, Jennifer Lawrence and Cate Blanchett also in attendance – with white heels, slicked-back hair, glowy make-up and a statement gold necklace.

The stylish gown comes after the Oscar-winning star stepped out in a number of see-through dresses over the past few months.

Her first, a pink nipple-baring Valentino look for the luxury fashion brand's Rome couture show in July, sparked much discussion.

It lead to Pugh having to defend the outfit on Instagram, where she wrote: "Listen, I knew when I wore that incredible Valentino dress that there was no way there wouldn’t be a commentary on it.

"What’s been interesting to watch and witness is just how easy it is for men to totally destroy a woman’s body, publicly, proudly, for everyone to see.

"What’s more concerning is... Why are you so scared of breasts? Small? Large? Left? Right? Only one? Maybe none?" she added. "What. Is. So. Terrifying."

Despite the criticism, the actress boldly opted for a sheer Valentino crop top and matching skirt during Paris Fashion Week last month.

Shortly afterward, Pugh chose a sheer sparkly, black dress by Rodarte – which she wore to the Academy Of Motion Picture Arts And Sciences.

It's clear that she isn't afraid to push the fashion boundaries along with her stylist Rebecca Corbin-Murray, and earlier this month stepped out in New York in a pair of monochrome mismatched boots.
