“Mortal Kombat” and “Demon Slayer” are once again fighting it out for the box-office crown this weekend with no new major releases on hand.
Both films are estimated to see steep second-weekend drops of 74% and 71% respectively with both earning just over $1.8 million on Friday. Both films, at the end of their first week, have pulled in just shy of $28 million each domestically.
The anime ‘Slayer’ narrowly lost the weekend last time, but this weekend it has the advantage of getting Imax, PLFs and Dolby screen real estate back from ‘Kombat’.
Next weekend sees Guy Ritchie’s action thriller “Wrath of Man” enter the scene.
